Daphne is a Consultant Solicitor, in the Wills, Probate and Trusts department specialising in the management of the affairs of elderly clients

While a specialist in wills and probate, Daphne also has extensive experience of residential conveyancing and obtained the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) accreditation for her firm.
She also has experience of dealing with estates with property in France, and has a working knowledge of the French language.
Career History
Daphne studied for an MA LLB at Edinburgh University and qualified as a solicitor in Scotland with W & J Burness WS in 1970. For some years she was an Assistant Secretary with the Scotch Whisky Association specialising in export-related issues.
She moved to England and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1991. She ran her own practice as a sole practitioner for nearly 20 years before amalgamating her practice with MacDonald Oates in October 2015. Daphne is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Personal
In her spare time Daphne enjoys literature, sculpture, gardening and travelling to her property in Normandy.
