In the first instance, we would invite each of you to attend an individual Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) to find out more about the process and to enable our Resolution trained mediator to have a confidential discussion. If assessed as suitable for the process, we would then invite you both to a joint session and go from there. In some cases, you may decide to have lawyers present – known as “hybrid mediation” – but this is not always necessary.
Ultimately, the aim to guide you both towards reaching an amicable agreement between you, without having a third party make the decision or engaging in protracted and costly proceedings. The process very much aligns with our Family Team’s commitment to the Resolution Code of Conduct.
