The Bereavement Counselling Charity receive their cheque

MacDonald Oates was pleased to hand over a cheque for £1405.95 to their charity of the year 2014, The Bereavement Counselling Charity. This was raised by the MacDonald Oates Charity Event Team (MOChET) with the support from the whole Firm and the wider community through events such as dress down days, a successful pub quiz held at the Petersfield Golf Club, a ‘bake off’ and our coffee mornings.

Janet Hanneman, Chair of The Bereavement Counselling Charity, said “This sum of money will cover a large amount of the travel expenses we meet for our volunteer counsellors. At present we have supported over 100 adults this year and are running a course to support children. We also support the parents of these children. …Thank you to all the staff at MacDonald Oates for their support, we are very grateful”

Chair of MOChET, Deborah Wood, commented “We were glad to support a local, small charity such as The Bereavement Counselling Charity. It is inspiring when you hear of people volunteering to help with such a charity and we were pleased to have been able contribute towards the charity’s future. We would like to thank the wider business community who supported events such as the quiz and hope to see as much support for our new charity for 2015, Victoria’s Promise.”
