Our specialist Family lawyers are all members of Resolution (a national organisation for lawyers who are committed to a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law matters) and our team includes trained collaborative lawyers, family law arbitrators and a Mediator. The team has developed a reputation as one of the leading family law teams in the region.
Divorce and Separation
We know that the breakdown of a relationship is often a very difficult time. Our focus is therefore to provide our clients with specialist and comprehensive advice on the financial implications of separation or divorce in a way that is sympathetic and yet objective.
We have particular expertise in cases involving substantial assets including those with complex pension, business, tax and trust issues. We are also experienced in dealing with off-shore assets and cases with an international dimension.
Whilst we will always aim to negotiate a suitable financial settlement in order to avoid unnecessary acrimony and limit costs, where appropriate Court proceedings can be issued.

Living Together
Many modern couples choose to live together without getting married and we can assist clients contemplating cohabitation. This area of law remains complex and early advice can prevent costly legal disputes in the event of the breakdown of your relationship.
We can also advise clients upon the breakdown of a relationship on legal and financial obligations including property, inheritance and other issues.
Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements
To try and achieve certainty regarding financial issues should your relationship fail our team can offer specialist advice on the preparation of Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements.
Collaborative Law – an alternative to Court
We recognise that each of our clients’ circumstances are different and that issuing Court proceedings is not always the best solution. A collaborative practice is therefore offered to our clients as an alternative way of resolving family disputes. This involves couples, their solicitors and other professionals working together to reach an agreement upon divorce or separation. Whilst each party has their own legal representative, both sides try to resolve the issues without resorting to costly or stressful Court proceedings.
Mediation is also available as an alternative option for separating couples and whether through our own Mediator or by supporting clients through the mediation process, this is a service we are able to offer our clients.
Domestic Violence and Abuse
We have extensive experience of dealing with this very serious problem.
What our clients say…
Having Tim ‘on side’ during this traumatic episode made a real difference. He was a tremendous support but at the same time kept me focussed on the main objective, i.e. obtaining a sensible outcome. This, thankfully, we did achieve.
